CUUPS Samhain
Located in Ross Chapel; Running from 5.00 P.M – 7.00 P.M
Samhain is known as the Witch’s New Year. It marks the end of summer, and the end of the harvest season. It signals the beginning of winter, which is associated with death. On this day, the veil between the living and the dead is especially thin so that connection and communication with the dead is easier. Samhain serves as a time of reflection, transformation, and connection with the natural and supernatural realms. Reminding us of the cyclical nature of existence and the eternal bond with our ancestral heritage.
The altar will be used to create a memory table honoring loved ones who have passed away. You are invited to bring photographs, heirlooms, and other mementos of deceased family, friends, and pets. Also, bring items for the altar that honor Samhain such as apples, pumpkins, butternut squash, or other fall crops. We will have a meditation to reflect on one or more of our loved ones who have passed, and what we have inherited from our ancestors. After the meditation, you will be invited to share stories of your ancestors.
