CUUPS Yule
Located in Ross Chapel, beginning at 7:00pm
Yule is a celebration of the Winter Solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year. Join us as we celebrate the return of the sun and the continuation of life. This is a time of rebirth and renewal, a time to reflect on the year that has passed while looking forward to the year ahead. We give thanks, let go of the past, and look forward to what lies ahead. In the battle between the Holly King (representing darkness) and the Oak King (representing light), the darkness gives way to the light. We will have a meditation based on a reflection of where in our lives we have been experiencing darkness and how we have or can shine light into the darkness.
We invite you to help decorate the altar, bring any of the many items that are emblematic of the season such as a straw goat, evergreen wreath, pomander orange, mistletoe, or holly.
Want to learn more about what the season is about?
Bring:
Songs: Any song suggestions? Try a week or so before so we can print them. How about now while you’re thinking of it?
Instruments: Whatever you play, and you can carry. Leave the baby grand at home. Oh, I think there is a baby grand already in the chapel.
Altar: Items you wish blessed with this incredible energy.
Chalice
Mess kit: Plate, Cup, Eating Utensils, Napkin.
Potluck Feast: Please let us know what you are bringing for the feast (see below).
Again, it is a potluck so please bring a potluck dish, a drink to share, and your mess kit. In keeping with loving Mother Earth, we choose to reduce waste by not providing paper products.
